2 Years of Train of Thought and The Eras Tour

June 23rd will go down as one of the most special nights of my life. Over a decade of dedication to Taylor Swift and her catalogue of music, which has grown extensively in the last 4 years alone, finally reached a euphoric climax. I attended The Eras Tour!

The concert last week was my first experience at Wembley Stadium. Every audience member I encountered: sitting in front of me, behind me or on the 40-minute walk home back to the hotel, was just as enamoured with Taylor as I was. I knew I was in the right space when the concert started; the people behind me knew every word to 'Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince', which is my favourite song on the Lover album. I felt even more comforted when they knew all the words to 'Clean', one of three of the surprise songs I scored on Taylor's piano set.

Speaking of surprises, the night was full of them. Before Taylor sang 'I Can Do It With A Broken Heart', Travis Kelce hopped on stage out of nowhere. I couldn't believe my eyes. The stadium couldn't either; the space erupted in cheers and disbelief as he confidently walked onto the stage, tilting his top hat towards us all in a playful greeting as though we were all in on it.

If you're going to The Eras Tour at any point, I'd recommend ear plugs. I took mine out briefly just to assess the sound and those three seconds were physically painful. Don't be afraid to take a break for drinks or the bathroom, lots of people do it and for a three and a half hour show, it's necessary. Don't be afraid to sit down, either; folklore and evermore are two of my favourite albums but I sat for the majority of the set.

Anyway, today is the two year anniversary of Train of Thought! I can't believe we've made it this far. I know I don't update this blog as much as I used to; I stated this would be the case on my last birthday blog post back in September. I don't love the blog any less, but my priorities are very different to what they were two years ago. As are yours, I'm sure. This website provided escapism for me during extremely dark periods of my life; last summer, when my mental health was the worst it had ever been, and August 2022. Everything I had worked so hard for fell to pieces. I had my silly little poems and stories to turn to, and you guys. You've all made me a better person inside and out, and I feel better everyday because of you.

Thank you, I love you. Here's to the next year! There's so much more to come.
